Research In Motion (RIM) had showcased its BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.0 last week at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas, USA.
The BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.0.0.6149 version brings a fresh user
interface that allows docking icons just like in the BlackBerry OS 7 and
also create pages that can be scrolled from right to left. By default,
the OS comes with 'Documents To Go' package that allows editing word
documents, and spreadsheets.
The BlackBerry Bridge continues to work perfectly and the mobile web browser plays Flash video smoothly.
Follow the below guide to get the Tablet OS 2.0.0.6149 Beta on your
PlayBook tablet. Do note that applying BlackBerry tablet OS 2.0 will
wipe any and every existing data of your PlayBook tab.
Step 1:
Go to PlayBook for
Beta access page, from your PlayBook tablet
Step 2:
On PlayBook, press on the Gear icon on top right corner of the
screen. Then tap on "About" menu on the left column and choose
"Hardware" from the drop down menu list located next to the text - View
Information about your tablet. That will show your PlayBook tablet
PIN.
Step 3:
Feed in your Tablet's PIN, the email address linked to your
BlackBerry ID and finally check the box to agree with the terms and
conditions.
Step 4:
On
the PlayBook tablet, go to the Software Updates menu and tap on 'Check
for Updates' button. Over here, the tablet is expected to be connected
with a good
WiFi connection.
At this point, the BlackBerry Tablet OS 2.0.0.6149 will show and
start downloading. Do note that the update download process might be
slow so leave the PlayBook for couple of hours. In case you miss out
downloading the update despite of several tries, then wait for 24 hours
and follow the aforementioned steps again to download the BlackBerry
Tablet OS 2.0 for your tablet.
